I need to capture what I'm going to try and build for the playdate. Of all the season 1 games Battle Ship Godios tickled my brain. So much so that I went ahead and bought Gradius for the Switch.
Ratcheteer is the game this week. I was struggling and had put it down. The thing I missed was turning the crank with a spanner activates some machines in the world. I unlocked the power station and then got stuck again.
This game reminded me so much of nemesis and R-Type. It spoke to me, and I loved how hard it was. You need to spend the time learning the patterns and do it right. You can earn plenty of extra lives if you're quick — use them if you lose a missile.
There are others that I have tried to complete and failed, I'm looking at you Zipper. I got the key, got into the Castle, then died — ARRRGGGHHHHH.
